Privacy Policy

Last Updated: April 15, 2026

In short: Pepscale stores all your data on your own devices. We do not collect, transmit, or sell any personal information. There are no accounts, no analytics, and no third-party tracking.

Your privacy is our highest priority. This Privacy Policy outlines how Pepscale ("we", "our", or "the App") handles your data. Our core philosophy is simple: your health data belongs to you, and we do not want it.

1. Data We Store

Pepscale stores the following data locally on your iPhone (and Apple Watch, if paired):

All data is stored using Apple's SwiftData framework on your device. We never transmit this data to any server we operate.

2. iCloud Backup (Optional)

If you enable iCloud Backup in the app settings, your data is synced to your personal iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit framework. This allows you to restore your data on a new device.

3. Apple Watch Sync

If you use the Pepscale Apple Watch companion app, the following data is shared between your iPhone and Apple Watch via Apple's WatchConnectivity framework:

This sync happens directly between your paired devices using Apple's secure on-device communication. No data passes through any external server.

Weight entries logged on the Apple Watch (including entries saved offline when your iPhone is not reachable) are synced to your iPhone when the connection is restored.

4. Apple HealthKit (Optional)

If you enable HealthKit sync in the app settings, Pepscale can read and write the following data types to/from the Apple Health app:

HealthKit access requires your explicit permission. You can revoke this at any time in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Health > Pepscale. HealthKit data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

We do not use HealthKit data for marketing, advertising, or data mining, nor do we share it with third parties.

5. Notifications

Pepscale can send local notifications to remind you to log your weight or take your medication. These notifications are:

6. Widgets

Pepscale provides iOS home screen widgets that display your current weight and medication schedule. Widget data is stored in a shared App Group container on your device and is not transmitted externally.

7. Analytics and Crash Data

We do not use invasive tracking SDKs. We rely on Apple's built-in App Analytics, which you can opt in or out of through your iOS device settings. This data is strictly anonymous and provides us with generic information like crash reports or usage trends to help us fix bugs and improve the App.

8. What We Do NOT Collect

9. Data Export & Deletion

10. Children's Privacy

Pepscale is not directed at children under 17. We do not knowingly collect data from children. The app contains health and medication tracking features intended for adult use.

11. Third-Party Sharing

Because we do not collect your personal or health data, we cannot and do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your information to outside parties.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically.

13. Website Cookies & Local Storage

This website does not use tracking cookies or analytics cookies. The only client-side storage used is a single localStorage entry that remembers your chosen language (e.g. forceEnglish) so the site does not auto-redirect you to a different locale on future visits. This preference is stored only in your browser, is never transmitted to us, and can be cleared at any time through your browser's site data settings.

14. Data Controller & Contact

The data controller responsible for this website and the Pepscale app under the GDPR is:

Pepscale EOOD
1000 Sofia, Bulgaria
Email: [email protected]

If you have any questions or concerns about this Privacy Policy or how your data is handled, or if you wish to exercise your rights under the GDPR (access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, or objection), please contact us at the address above. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

15. Trademark Notice

Apple, iPhone, Apple Watch, Apple Health, HealthKit, and iCloud are trademarks of Apple Inc., registered in the U.S. and other countries.
